Case Study: App enhancement

A while ago I worked on a small piece of work to update an identity management app in the Health space.

The ask

The client wanted to ensure the app had the current email for all of its users.

The solution

We spun up a team, consisting of:

  • Delivery Lead
  • Business Analyst
  • User Researcher
  • User Experience
  • Developer
  • Tester

We quickly established that over time users email changes over time and when authenticating there was a great opportunity to give them an option to check their email is correct.

Our User Researcher and User Experience worked with users to story board and map out their journey to update their email.

We were then able to feed this into the build cycle and rapidly test its effectiveness.

One key piece of insight was that sometimes user have a very important reason for using the app and value the option to skip distractions so this was added, tested and then released.

The project was completed in 4 weeks.
